TelAvivOne
In March 2006, young leaders from across North America will be given the chance to experience Israel as never before. TelAvivOne represents a bold and experimental approach to leadership development; a chance to step outside the conference room and to actively engage with a country, a people and each other.
TelAvivOne is an opportunity to live generously, both at home and abroad. It’s a way to strengthen and enrich worldwide Jewry, while deepening our personal commitment to leading a valuable, meaningful life. It’s a way to connect our heritage and our history to the work we do in our local communities, in Israel, and throughout the world.
Modern, contemporary, and dynamic, Tel Aviv is as inspiring as it is exciting. Participating in TelAvivOne is a chance to experience firsthand the power of community and the effects of living generously. In doing so, we commit to the shared values and principles that motivate us to constantly do better, for ourselves and for our people.
The conference promises four days of remarkable Israel programming, including off-site travel and site-visits. Participants will visit wineries, small businesses, concert halls, Jewish agencies and outdoor venues. Daytime programming will feature outstanding speakers, entertainers, interactive learning and international relationship-building. Evenings will highlight the flavor of chic and young Tel Aviv, including a closing concert with international stars in a fabulous venue.
TelAvivOne is not for tourists. Rather, it is for those who wish to transform their lives by creating new ways of looking at the world and the people around them. It’s an experience for people who want to engage with their peers and their environment in a productive and enriching way.
TelAvivOne, which targets young Jews will take place March 4-10, 2006, with an optional Shabbaton in Jerusalem on the 3rd and 4th. UJC MetroWest participants will be visiting our partner communities in Israel on Thursday, March 9 as a part of this program.
The full value of TelAvivOne, including airfare, hotel, meals, programming, trips, materials, etc., is $2,130 per person.
A national subsidy is available for people between the ages of 25-35 to participate at a total cost of $500 per person, plus a minimum contribution of $500 to the 2006 UJA MetroWest campaign.
If you do not qualify for the subsidy above, you may qualify for a UJC MetroWest subsidy to participate on TelAvivOne. Please call 973/929.3027 for more information.
All subsidy recipients are required to participate in pre- and post-conference programming on the local level, and a campaign caucus at the conference itself.
