**Media Advisory** The Pro-Israel Evangelical Christian Movement – What is the Agenda? Featuring Reverend Dr. Robert Stearns Date: Monday, November 30, 2009 During the past several years, Christians United for Israel (CUFI), a grassroots evangelical initiative, has been building a strong advocacy movement in support of Israel and has reached out to engage the Jewish community as a partner. Over the past two years, the Community Relations Committee (CRC) of United Jewish Communities of MetroWest NJ has begun to develop a relationship with the national and regional leadership of the organization to get to know them better. “In today’s frustrating political environment, when a large majority of nations and global political entities are hostile toward the State of Israel, the Jewish community needs to proactively reach out to those who have the propensity, and the potential, to be our political allies. The Christians United for Israel is one such group. They are here offering their hands in friendship to us,” said Jim Daniels, Event Chair and Chair of the CRC Stop Iran Task Force. The Community Relations Committee of United Jewish Communities, in partnership with the JCRC of Northern NJ UJA and the CRC of Central Federation, is sponsoring The Pro-Israel Evangelical Christian Movement: What is the Agenda? featuring Reverend Dr. Robert Stearns, at 7:30 p.m., on Monday, November 30, at Temple Beth Shalom in Livingston, New Jersey. Reverend Stearns is the Regional Director of CUFI and founder of Eagles’ Wings, an international ministry community that has been building friendship and support for Israel in the Christian world for more than 15 years. Eagles’ Wings sponsors month-long trips to Israel for non-Jewish college students each year. For more information, contact Melanie Roth Gorelick at (973) 929-3087 or . |
